Dr. Melanie J. Carvell

Dr. Melanie Carvell is originally from southwest Florida. After attending Duke University for her bachelor's degree and the University of Houston College of Optometry for her optometric degree, she moved to Jacksonville to practice with Dr. Roberts. In 2007, she became the sole owner of Drs Roberts and Carvell.

When not seeing patients or chasing after her five year old, she enjoys reading, cooking and exercising.

Dr. B. W. Roberts

Dr. Roberts had been in practice in Jacksonville for over 40 years. Originally from North Carolina, he obtained his optometric degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry after spending two years in the US Army.

Now retired, he can be found on the golf course or spending time with his three adult children and two grandkids.

Rose Mary

Rose Mary has been with our practice for over 28 years. She is the senior optician, insurance specialist and the friendly face most of our patients remember year to year.

Rose Mary enjoys travelling, spending time with her grandchildren and learning floral arranging.

Becky

Becky has been a part of our practice now for twenty years. As office manager, she is involved in most facets of the business, but still enjoys interacting with our patients as much as possible.

When not busy in the office, Becky enjoys time spent with her two daughters and six grandchildren and planning her next trip overseas.

Patty

Patty handles accounts receivable and insurance billing. She is our software "guru" and can often be found helping the rest of the staff.

Patty is our ex-New Yorker who now lives in Florida with her two sons.

Peggy

Peggy is also an optometric technician. She pre-tests patients for the doctors and helps train new contact lens wearers in proper lens care. She also keeps the front desk running smoothly, answering the phones and making appointments.

Originally from Indianapolis, IN, Peggy moved south to be near family. She enjoys movies, working outdoors and going to the gym, making her one of the "buffest" grandmothers around.

Lisa

Lisa is our newest optometric technician. She can be found at the front desk, checking in patients, pretesting for the doctors, obtaining insurance authorizations and ensuring the front office runs smoothly.

Lisa is mom to four children, ranging in age from 4 to 16.

Tammy

Tammy is our optician and the newest addition to the practice. We are so happy to finally have this eyewear professional working with us. Tammy has over 25 years in the optical field and is very experienced in all aspects of eyewear selection, fitting, adjustment and repair.

When not helping people select the perfect pair of eyewear, Tammy enjoys Jaquar football, travel and taking care of her six pugs.

Liz

Liz is our newest employee with over 25 years in the optical field. She is an optometric technician, pretesting patients for the doctor and teaching new contact lens wearers proper handling and care of their lenses. She also manages the contact lens inventory as well as ordering lenses for patients.

Liz has two daughters and four grandchildren. She enjoys gardening, crocheting and cheers for the Georgia Bulldogs.
